Autism Care Demonstration
The Autism Care Demonstration offers Applied Behavior Analysis services for people with autism.
To enroll your dependent, they’ll need a confirmed diagnosis of autism. The TRICARE basic benefit covers the diagnosis. An approved provider or your dependent's PCM can provide this diagnosis.
You can get help with enrollment for up to 180 days before joining the ACD.

Who Can Get Help?
To get help, your dependent must meet the criteria below.
- Be in an eligible TRICARE health plan.
- Have a confirmed autism diagnosis from an approved provider.
If you are an active duty service member or family, you also need to follow the steps below.
- Register for the Extended Care Health Option.
- Enroll in the Exceptional Family Member Program.
Autism Services Navigators
Once enrolled, you’ll have an autism services navigator. This person is a case manager who knows about autism. They will help coordinate care and be your health advocate. They’ll also be your main point of contact. They can help reduce gaps in ABA services when you move. However, they don’t decide on the medical need for treatment plans or coverage benefits.
