Autism Care Demonstration
TRICARE’s Autism Care Demonstration (ACD) allows eligible beneficiaries with autism spectrum disorder to receive reimbursement for applied behavior analysis (ABA) services.
Help Available for Beneficiaries Enrolling in ACD
TriWest Healthcare Alliance now offers enhanced support for TRICARE beneficiaries seeking enrollment in the Autism Care Demonstration (ACD), which provides applied behavior analysis services for individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
Families can receive up to 180 days of assistance from a dedicated ACD specialist who can help:
- Explain ACD eligibility requirements and available services.
- Help obtain referrals for ASD diagnostic evaluations.
- Coordinate with providers to ensure all documentation is complete and submitted.
This support is especially helpful for families who are considering ACD enrollment for the first time or who were previously informed that required documentation was incomplete.
Please encourage eligible TRICARE families to call 833-818-2525 to request “ACD eligibility assistance.”
How to Become a TRICARE ABA Provider
To become a TRICARE ABA provider, you must sign a Participation Agreement and be TRICARE certified. TriWest will certify ABA providers for TRICARE within 10 business days from the receipt of a complete application that meets all requirements for certification. There is also a process for credentialing to become Network providers.
The following table provides an overview of ACD eligibility status.
