Autism Care Demonstration (ACD)
The ACD offers Applied Behavior Analysis services for people with autism.
To enroll your dependent, they need a confirmed diagnosis of autism. This diagnosis is covered by the TRICARE basic benefit. An approved provider or your dependent’s primary care manager can provide this diagnosis.
You can receive help with enrollment requirements for up to 180 days before joining the Autism Care Demonstration.

Who Can Get Help?
To get help, your dependent must meet the criteria below.
- Be in an eligible TRICARE health plan.
- Have a confirmed autism diagnosis from an approved provider.
If you are an active duty service member or family, you also need to:
- Register for the Extended Care Health Option.
- Enroll in the Exceptional Family Member Program.
Autism Service Navigators
Once enrolled, you will have an autism services navigator. This person is a case manager who knows about autism. They’ll help coordinate care and be a health advocate for you. They’ll also be your main point of contact and work to reduce gaps in services when you move. However, they don’t decide on the medical need for treatment plans or coverage benefits.
